Usually when you provide great customer service you can manage to retain a customer (people tend to contact a business only when something needs to be fixed). Sometimes, outstanding customer service encourages that customer to tell their friends and family about you (whenever someone gives a referral, they need to have an elevated level of trust in the business they’re referring as otherwise they might look like an idiot). And sometimes, outstanding customer service can provide marketing worth millions of dollars, largely thanks to the rise of social media.
